CFP Winemakers Spotlight: Lanza Vineyards

Great Wine Comes From Great Grapes

Lanza Vineyards is nestled between the "twin sisters" of the Howell Mountain Range and the Vaca Range in the Suisun Valley (Pronounced soo-soon). Recognized as a North Coast A.V.A. (American Viticultural Area), the Suisun Valley is California's second oldest A.V.A. As Napa Valley's closet neighbor, the Suisun Valley provides a coastal Mediterranean climate with cool, wet spring seasons followed by a warm, dry growing season. In fact, the Lanza Vineyards span four microclimates, enabling the Lanzas to plant different varieties in the areas best suited for each type of vine. Lanza Vineyards grows Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Napa Gamay, Syrah, Petite Sirah, Pinot Noir, Zinfandel, Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Riesling, and Sauvignon Blanc.

Lanza Vineyards is family owned and operated. Founder Mario Lanza's four grandsons meticulously cultivate and manage their acreage with pride and unparalleled commitment to growing premium quality grapes.

A commitment to careful handling defines the picking process at Lanza Vineyards. The Lanza grapes at Consumer Fresh Winemakers are touched only one time before you get them — they are handpicked and placed directly into the box.

Simply put, Lanza grapes are our very best wine grapes.
